Position Purpose:

QuoteCenter is an application Home Depot store associates use to build a wide range of orders from large, complex orders to small drop-in orders for products across The Home Depot's supply chain. The mission of the QuoteCenter product team is to radically reimagine the shopping experience at Home Depot utilizing the latest web technologies and data tools. We are searching for a Senior Data Analyst to support and enhance the data analyst discipline at QuoteCenter. In this role, you will be working with key cross-functional product teams. We are looking for a blend of experience and education working with software product engineering teams, translating business needs into written technical requirements and acceptance criteria, and working with SQL and business intelligence tools platforms in a SaaS environment. We will accept more work experience in place of a degree.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 35% Leading Workflow/Process: Responsible for leading workflow for data analysts, acting as SME/mentor for lower level analysts

  • 30% Data Integrity: Responsible for cleansing and integrating data from numerous proprietary and syndicated sources to support the needs of business partners.

  • 15% Business Savvy: Understand business objectives, data questions, and site-tagging problems to ensure accuracy of data capture.

  • 15% Manage Programs: Analyze effectiveness of data management programs against target metrics. Create reports and provide results to senior leadership and make recommendations to optimize channel effectiveness.

  • 5% Strategy: Identify and prioritize strategic first, second, and third level priorities for integration with product development roadmap.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports: This position reports to the Manager of Analytics. This position has 0 direct reports.
Travel Requirements: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be eighteen years of age or older. Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to digest high level problems and move through the process of questioning, analyzing, and troubleshooting to defining potential solutions, gaining stakeholder buy-in and collaborating with necessary teams to execute strategy.

  • Experience defining & supporting operational objectives in the following areas: Technology, Business Strategy, Operations, and End Users.

  • Proven history of working with stakeholders, users and subject matter experts to gain a functional understanding of business problems and technical solutions then documenting business knowledge, defining, and prioritizing requirements.

  • Prior experience defining and implementing standards/templates and establishing data analysis as an organizational discipline.

  • Demonstrated data-driven approach to prioritization and managing product roadmaps in an Agile SDLC.

  • Ability to decompose complex business problems into digestible pieces, pair with meaningful data and work back up to holistic solution recommendation.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.

  • Background implementing/supporting data governance is required.

  • Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Slack, or other comparable tools

  • High Proficiency in MySQL, SQL (SSMS, SSIS, SSAS)

  • Experience with Visualization tools Tableau Desktop/Server or similar

  • Comfortable working with Cloud Platforms Google Cloud/Analytics

  • Strong understanding of data modeling concepts

  • MS Visio

  • MS Office

Minimum Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.

The pay range for this position is between $74,000 - $110,000
