Job Overview:
The Senior Counsel, Gene Reading, will provide expert legal and transactional counsel to a business unit focused on next-generation sequencing (NGS), polymerase chain reaction (PCR), and related technologies. This role is crucial for navigating complex legal landscapes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will use their extensive legal expertise to advance our mission of genomic analysis and deliver innovative solutions to our clients.
The essential requirements of the job include:

Maintain a solid understanding of IDT’s products, business goals, and challenges to provide comprehensive legal advice and support to the Gene Reading business unit. Address a wide range of issues, including intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and commercial transactions.

Negotiate, draft, review, and finalize complex agreements, including licensing, collaboration, research, and supply agreements related to NGS, PCR, and related technologies.

Act as the company’s data privacy lead, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, and other applicable laws, in all transactions and business operations.

Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements, including FDA, EMA, and other global regulatory bodies, pertaining to next-generation sequencing and PCR technologies.

Collaborate with the IP team to protect the company’s intellectual property assets, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets related to NGS, PCR, and related technologies.

Ability to travel up to 15% overnight within the territory or to other locations.
Compensation:

The salary range for this role is $160,000-$180,000. This range is provided in good faith and reflects the possible compensation for this role at the time of posting. Actual pay may vary and could be higher or lower than the provided range. This range may be updated in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
