We are looking for an outstanding legal professional to join our fast-growing team as a Senior Counsel (Commercial), based in London. You will advise on, negotiate and manage a variety of contractual matters and issues. WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Partner closely with internal teams, including other parts of the Legal & Compliance department, as well as other internal business stakeholders to proactively address and resolve contractual matters in line with the company’s objectives.
  • Review, draft, revise, negotiate and advise on key business contracts for various types of arrangements, including alliances and strategic relationships, product and service integrations, client services, new business offerings venture investments, and service provider and vendor arrangements.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions and other strategic corporate development transactions and initiatives, including as relates to operative agreements, due diligence, closing mechanics, and post-closing integration and administration.
  • Help define procedures and practices within Legal to promote efficient workflows and handling of contractual matters.
  • Proactively identify, analyze and mitigate risks.
  • Partner with external counsel as necessary. 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • JD/law degree and bar admission in the UK or at least one U.S. state.
  • Preference for 8+ years overall relevant experience, including law firm and in-house legal department experience.
  • Cross-border transactions, emerging markets and technology experience are a plus.
  • Proven high-performing legal experience and ability to lead contractual matters.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to clients.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills and excellent judgment; ability to drive issues to a quick and calibrated resolution that factors in applicable non-legal variables, such as brand-risk, communications, government / third-party relations, tax, insurance, finance and other business interests. 
  • Ability to manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues, particularly in a fast-paced corporate setting.
  • Ability to anticipate legal issues and risks, and to negotiate provisions and build processes to proactively address them. 
  • First class interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Solutions oriented and business minded.
  • Track record of proactively building and maintaining productive relationships with business and corporate functional leaders.
  • High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
  • Enthusiasm for crypto.
  • Cross-border transactions, emerging markets and technology experience are a plus.
