About the Role

MoneyLion is seeking a business-minded, execution-driven Senior Counsel, Commercial and Product to join our legal team. We are a small, nimble legal department supporting a growing business, so we are seeking an attorney who enjoys wearing multiple hats, proactively takes on new responsibilities and is excited by the challenge of providing legal services at a dynamic, fast-growing fintech company.

This role is located on-site 4 days a week at our headquarters in Chelsea, NYC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate a variety of complex commercial agreements to support MoneyLion’s evolving business, including master services agreements, sales contracts, consulting agreements, marketing agreements, referral agreements, statements of work, sponsorship
    agreements, partnership agreements, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and other licensing or technology agreements.
  • Create and update commercial contract templates, playbooks and other resources.
  • Enhance the commercial contracting process through close coordination with the sales team and by leveraging new technologies to introduce efficiencies.
  • Partner with a range of cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, HR, business development, sales, finance, and operations, to identify and provide strategic advice on legal issues impacting MoneyLion’s products, business and customers.
  • Work creatively and collaboratively with the product and business teams to provide business- oriented advice and support at every step of the product life cycle, from design and development to customer support, marketing and advertising activities, and to counsel the product and business teams on applicable laws and regulations.
  • Draft and maintain consumer-facing legal policies, documents and related materials, including terms and conditions, product policies and disclosures, and implement related processes.
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with business partners, outside counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Assist legal and compliance team members in other projects as needed.

About You

  • JD Degree from an accredited law school and license in good standing to practice law in at least one state bar.
  • 5+ years of relevant law firm or in-house experience; a mix of law firm and in-house counsel experience is preferred.
  • Ideal candidate has scaled revenue operations doing B2B or B2B2C commercial agreements in fintech / regulated consumer-facing financial services industry.
  • Sharp analytical skills, diligent, proactive, and collaborative, and have demonstrated excellent legal and business judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Comfortable in dynamic, fast-paced environments, with an entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up your sleeves and do the work.

The annual base salary for this position is expected to be between $180,000 to $220,000. Base salary is one component of MoneyLion's total compensation package, which includes, 401(k) match, multiple health insurance options, disability coverage, life insurance, and unlimited paid time off for salaried positions. Actual salaries will vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies related to the role.
