The Legal & Policy Team is Snap’s dedicated in-house law firm, policy consultant, advocate, thought partner, and all-around advisor. This team helps Snap do the right thing the right way, make better decisions, understand and manage risks, and creatively navigate challenges, both external and internal. We’re looking for a Senior Counsel to join our Advertising & Marketing Legal team! The Advertising & Marketing Legal team provides key support for Snap’s revenue-generating and marketing activities, collaborating closely with the Sales, Marketing, Growth, Ad Review and other cross-functional teams on legal issues spanning the breadth of Snap’s products and services.
What you’ll do:

Play a key role in structuring, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of contracts in support of Snap’s marketing activities, and advising on legal issues spanning the breadth of Snap’s products and services.

Collaborate with colleagues throughout the company to develop creative solutions that manage risk, as part of cross-functional teams.

Draft, negotiate, review, and interpret agreements covering a range of Snap’s commercial activities, including marketing, market research, sponsorship, online platform terms, and partner/vendor agreements.

Provide legal guidance and support to Snap’s Sales, Marketing, and other teams focussing on Snap’s internal and external branding and messaging.

Develop and apply policies, templates, and practices, navigating legal compliance and risk tolerance.

Manage multiple deals and support colleagues to ensure business initiatives are executed accurately and on time.

Collaborate with outside counsel as required.

Handle projects at the discretion of the Commercial Legal Leadership team.

Exercise sound judgement when negotiating key business and legal terms.

Minimum Qualifications:

J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.

Active membership in at least one United States state bar.

8+ years’ of relevant in-house or law firm experience
-
Experience advising in-house Marketing teams, preferably at a tech company
-
Experience drafting, negotiating, and advising clients on digital ad sales, marketing, and consumer/advertising regulation

Compensation
In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone which determines the salary range for the position. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range for the position. These pay zones may be modified in the future.
Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):
The base salary range for this position is $251,000-$377,000 annually.
Zone B:
The base salary range for this position is $238,000-$358,000 annually.
Zone C:
The base salary range for this position is $213,000-$320,000 annually.
This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
