As a Senior Core Developer for our flagship Math game, boasting a vibrant monthly user base of approximately 7 million active students, you will play a pivotal role in crafting captivating online adventures. Our students engage in thrilling RPG adventure to defeat the puppet master, all while mastering a wide spectrum of 1500 math concepts. Leveraging your seasoned expertise, you will lead the charge in reworking core game systems , optimizing game performance and working on game tooling.Your impact extends beyond writing code; it encompasses identifying opportunities for technological advancements and nurturing the professional growth of fellow developers through mentorship.
Your Impact
- Design, test and implement core game technology systems bringing efficiency to developing new and supporting features across the games
- Optimizing game performance KPI’s across various platforms and devices
- Reduce feature lead-time by creating and improving existing internal tools for developers,artists and game designers
- Share knowledge across teams in an open and collaborative environment and help mentor more junior team members
About You
- You have sincere love for gaming and more than five years of experience in the game development field,
- You are well-versed in the workflows of game development disciplines such as art, game design, QA, and engineering and leverage this understanding to develop/improve tools to reduce feature lead times.
- Experience work with core game systems such as player profile data storing, UI framework, input or asset loading
- You’re familiar with engines like Unity, Unreal, and Godot. You possess an in-depth understanding of these engines' capabilities and limitations and can apply this knowledge to enhance our proprietary engine.
- Your excellent communication skills enable effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- You are a proactive learner who actively seeks out new technologies and willingly shares your knowledge with the team.
Core Technologies
- Our game is built using a bespoke HTML5 game engine and editor built on top of PixiJS and written in TypeScript.
- Our Game Editor is an Electron App written using React/Typescript.
Bonus Points
- Experience working on a live service games and/or team based RPG
- Experience working with React and Redux
- Build engineering experience ( i.e Jenkins)
