Copywriters at Grizzly are brand communication experts who craft compelling copy from concept to completion across diverse projects. Working within a wide range of industries, they collaborate closely with strategists, designers, brand managers, agency leadership, and client stakeholders to execute multiple projects simultaneously. Reporting to the CCO, the Copywriter ensures the work is strategic, people-centric, bold, thoughtful, and detail-oriented, delivering creative solutions that effectively address client challenges and drive business outcomes.

About the Role - Strategy & Collaboration

  • Contribute to identifying and creating strategic solutions for client challenges, focusing on the underlying motivations. 
  • Actively seek solutions both independently and collaboratively, ensuring effective communication with team members for exceptional project outcomes. 
  • Articulate ideas and concepts clearly and confidently to both team members and clients, fostering a shared understanding. 
  • Solicit regular feedback to align copywriting with project stakeholders and enhance overall quality. 
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to improve agency processes and support team growth. 
  • Monitor project progress through all phases of development and maintain a well-organized library of reference materials related to assigned clients.

About the Role - Compelling & Creative Communication

  • Manage design tasks and projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and successful outcomes. 
  • Drive creative thought leadership to inspire both the team and clients, contributing innovative ideas and strategies. 
  • Approach project and concept development with a strategic mindset, aligning creative solutions with business objectives. 
  • Provide insightful communication strategies based on thorough analysis of problems and target audiences. 
  • Transform client briefs and internal strategies into clear, focused ideas and compelling narratives.
  • Craft impactful and meaningful copy across diverse deliverables, including brand messaging, tone and voice, web content, marketing materials, ad copy, and scriptwriting. 
  • Develop new copy as well as edit and proofread existing content to ensure clarity and consistency. 
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively, maintaining organization, attention to detail, and motivation throughout.

About the Role - Continuous Learning & Development

  • Stay informed about the branding and advertising landscape, including historical trends and emerging developments. 
  • Maintain proficiency in relevant technologies to enhance creative capabilities and project outcomes. 
  • Contribute to Grizzly's growth by actively supporting projects, initiatives, and team members. 
  • Take the initiative to pursue personal and professional growth as a copywriter and collaborative team member.

About You

  • 5+ years of professional copywriting experience with a strong track record of creating compelling narratives and ideas. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality work. 
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, complemented by excellent presentation abilities. 
  • Collaborative team player with the capacity to work independently, effectively engaging with cross-functional teams to develop plans and deliverables. 
  • Deep understanding of branding, brand communication, digital experiences, and marketing campaigns. 
  • Strong conceptual and brainstorming skills, with a keen ability to solicit and implement feedback from creative directors while providing constructive insights to others. 
  • Excellent listening skills that foster a deep understanding of client needs and target audiences, while demonstrating professionalism and courtesy to clients and colleagues, respecting their work and schedules to ensure timely copy delivery.

Additional Details

  • While Grizzly has a remote-first culture, candidates must be located in Southern CA.
  • Flexibility with schedule to meet client commitments.
  • Domestic and international travel may be required, up to 35% if/as needed.
