As our Content Marketing Lead, you will play a pivotal role in crafting and executing a content strategy that drives awareness, generates leads, and supports customer success. You’ll create compelling content that tells our story, educates prospects, and positions us as a thought leader in cloud backup and cloud infrastructure. This is a hands-on role with a lot of creative freedom and an opportunity to make a direct impact on our marketing efforts.

This is one of the first roles in our expanding marketing team, and you'll have the unique opportunity to shape our content strategy from the ground up, making a direct impact on our growth and brand presence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop & Execute Content Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive content marketing strategy that aligns with business goals, targeting the right audience at each stage of the buyer’s journey.
  • Content Creation & Optimization: Write, edit, and optimize high-quality content including blog posts, whitepapers, case studies, ebooks, emails, website copy, and social media content.
  • SEO & Content Performance: Ensure content is optimized for search engines. Track content performance and use data to optimize future content initiatives.
  • Thought Leadership: Research industry trends and create thought leadership pieces that position the company as an expert in cloud backup and storage.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with product, sales, customer success, and our creative agency team to create content that resonates with both existing customers and prospective customers.
  • Content Calendar & Campaign Management: Own and manage the content calendar, ensuring consistent, on-brand content delivery across all channels.
  • Brand Voice & Messaging: Ensure that all content is consistent with the company’s brand voice, messaging, and values, enhancing our brand identity and voice in the marketplace.
  • Content Distribution: Develop a distribution strategy that includes social media, email marketing, partner channels, and more, to ensure maximum reach and engagement.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in content marketing, ideally within the B2B tech/startup environment. Experience in cloud tech a plus.
  • Content Expertise: Proven ability to write and edit compelling content for various formats (blogs, articles, whitepapers, case studies, social media, etc.) that speaks to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • SEO Knowledge: Understanding of SEO best practices and how to integrate them into content creation.
  • Analytical Skills: Comfortable with data-driven decision-making, including tracking key metrics (traffic, engagement, conversions) and optimizing content strategies based on insights.
  • Tech-Savvy: Experience using content management systems (CMS), marketing automation tools, and analytics platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Webflow, WordPress, Google Analytics).
  • Project Management: Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and tone.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work cross-functionally with teams across marketing, sales, and product to ensure content meets the needs of each department.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable in a startup environment where priorities may shift quickly, and adaptability is key.
