WHO WE ARE

VerticalScope (TSE: FORA) operates one of the 10 largest community platforms in the US. Our platform includes over 1,200 websites and 125 million monthly visitors. Our mission is to enable the world to share expertise and discover knowledge on subjects they love. We operate at the intersection of community, content, and commerce, and believe in the power of enthusiasts to inform and inspire.

THE ROLE

RedFlagDeals.com (RFD) is Canada’s premier destination for deal-savvy shoppers, connecting millions of users who share a passion for finding the best bargains. Our platform thrives on expert insight and community-driven deal sharing, making RFD the go-to resource for Canadians looking to save money across all shopping categories.

We’re on the hunt for a Senior Content Manager, someone with a sharp eye for value and a deep understanding of Canadian shopping trends. This role is for a true deal enthusiast—a person who not only knows what makes a deal great but can establish frameworks, strategies, and standards that help both merchants and the RFD community elevate their savings game.

If you live and breathe deals, have a knack for identifying value, and want to help Canadians shop smarter, this role is for you.

The position is remote from Ontario, Canada.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Define What Makes a Deal Great

• Establish clear frameworks and standards for evaluating deals, ensuring only the best offers make the cut.

• Develop and maintain protocols for identifying top-tier discounts and promotions, both in-store and online, to guide the community in their deal-hunting efforts.

Elevate Deal Hunting Across the Platform

• Partner with RFD’s deal hunters to provide training, resources, and guidelines that refine their approach to finding and sharing deals.

Implement strategies that streamline and improve the discovery and presentation of deals across the platform.

Enhance Merchandising Strategies

• Design and execute merchandising tactics that help RFD users make informed shopping decisions, whether comparing products, navigating seasonal promotions, or identifying price trends.

• Collaborate with the sales team and retail partners to craft deal structures and strategies that resonate with both shoppers and merchants.

Bridge the Gap Between Retailers and the Community

• Work directly with merchants, advertisers, and retailers to optimize their presence on RFD, helping them craft offers and pricing strategies that excite the community and drive sales.

• Use forum data and insights to advise on pricing histories, inventory strategies, and the quality of deals being offered.

Leverage Data to Drive Decisions

• Analyze forum activity, price trends, and deal performance to ensure the community benefits from the most relevant and valuable savings.

• Use insights to shape the evolution of deal standards, ensuring RFD remains the top destination for deal hunters in Canada.

ABOUT YOU

• 5+ years of experience in a related field, such as media production focused on shopping and savings, retail buying, or e-commerce site merchandising.

• Deep knowledge of Canadian shopping habits, pricing strategies, and promotional tactics used by major retailers.

• Exceptional analytical skills with experience using data to identify trends and make strategic decisions.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with both the community and business partners effectively.

• Proficiency in working collaboratively across teams, especially with sales and client-facing roles.

• A passion for deals and an innate curiosity about shopping trends and value propositions.

YOU’RE A GREAT FIT IF YOU ALSO HAVE

• Experience working in media or editorial roles focused on shopping, savings, or consumer behavior.

• Background in buying or merchandising for a large retailer, with insight into pricing strategies and inventory management.

• Familiarity with tools and platforms that analyze pricing histories and shopping data.

• A proactive, self-starter mentality with a creative approach to problem-solving.
