Job Description

AECOM is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to support the East Region Water Business Line (WBL) in our pursuit and delivery of public sector resiliency services. This position is a On Call/As Needed Role. The successful candidate will advise on public sector engagement strategies and drive the development of grants management solutions throughout AECOM's East Region. The successful candidate will work with leadership as well as on-the-ground teams in the pursuit and delivery of local, state, and national resiliency services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to project teams, enhancing their capabilities in resilience during project execution.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Resiliency practice through strategic planning and effective sales of services to relevant market sectors.
  • Utilize extensive knowledge of business and grant offerings to foster cross-discipline collaboration within the organization.
  • Identify and anticipate emerging opportunities and trends in mitigation, recovery, resiliency and adjacent market sectors.
  • Serve as the technical authority on projects related to disaster mitigation and recovery, ensuring innovative and effective solutions are implemented.
  • Offer technical support to other projects with a resiliency focus.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, partners, industry groups, and stakeholders, positioning the firm as a leader in resiliency solutions.
  • Contribute to major pursuits and capture plans that align with business development strategies and technical capabilities.
  • Collaborate with technical experts across the organization to enhance and support project pursuits.
  • Support communication with clients to ensure satisfaction with services and collaborate with project delivery teams to address service-related issues swiftly.
  • Partner with the Technical Practice to ensure alignment of skills with market needs and to guide strategic technical leadership hires.
  • Continuously expand a strong professional network through personal connections, conference involvement, and strategic initiatives to advance the organization's goals in infrastructure resiliency.

 

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS Degree in Earth or Physical Sciences or related degree + 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Proven experience in mitigation, recovery, resiliency or related fields.
  • Demonstrated technical background complemented by excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Documented leadership in managing multi-billion-dollar grant programs, to include but not limited to, Federal, State, and Local funding streams.
  • Position may require travel on an as-needed basis.
  • Due to the nature of business, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years' experience of working and understanding FEMA grant programs and/or local government interaction with these programs.
  • Demonstrated exemplary leadership attributes that provide role modelling for others.
  • Proven mastery of typical office software packages (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
