Job Description
CHEP are actively looking to add a Senior Analyst - Commercial & Supply Chain Finance (SSA) to the team. This role reports to the Commercial & Supply Chain Finance Manager and will be based in Westville, Durban (Hybrid). We are looking for excellent business acumen, critical thinking capabilities and a strong desire to dive deeper into each business case.
This role is responsible for providing the business (commercial sales and supply chain teams) with detailed commercial finance support by providing analysis and insight on key initiatives to drive growth, increase profitability and efficiency, and broader financial support.

Key Accountabilities:
- Provides business with analytics and insights to support strategic and operational decision making, and in doing so, influences improved business performance and capital allocation decisions
- Support the development of commercial strategies in conjunction with the commercial and supply chain teams
- Collaborates with the business on Value Chain Analysis and other commercial calculations
- Enhances and owns the models used to appropriately structure customer and supply chain with new proposals (new markets and new products)
- Provides financial preparation on new deals, renewal negotiations and contract management
- Prepare and maintain supporting tools for the business, e.g. price indices, inflationary increases, enhancements of value proposition, etc.
- Provides deep functional analytical insight through modeling detailed inputs on budgets and forecasts
- Performs overall supply chain analysis and other financial evaluations
- Performs the analytics on post-investment reviews and monitoring investments including capex
Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting or in a relevant finance technical discipline
- Preferred: CIMA or CA (SA)
Experience
- 1-3 years of Finance or Accounting Management experience preferably in complex multinational businesses within Finance roles, including previous business partnering experience
- Proven experience in budgeting and forecast analysis
- Previous experience with Commercial analysis, pricing, and business justifications.
Skills and Knowledge
- Solid understanding of FP&A, Commercial, and Supply Chain Finance processes
- Good understanding of complex Finance and Accounting principles and ratios.
- Ability to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions
- Ability to challenge senior stakeholders on key financial data.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Advanced use of Microsoft applications – Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience working in a Global multinational within a matrix environment.
- Critical thinker, can anticipate & provide scenarios for different problems
