Job Profile

As the Senior Commercial Analyst your primary function will be to maintain and prepare commercial information, analysis and reconciliation to support strategic decision-making process of device protection programmes.  These tasks include but are not limited to producing periodic forecasts for revenue / profit / stock, supporting monthly/weekly reconciliations, maintaining business performance trackers, KPI’s & preparing monthly open book P&L statements.

In this role you will support the Commercial Manager in providing timely and accurate information to the senior leadership team to support decision-making.  You will need to be able to deputise for the Commercial Manager with key business stakeholders. The role has accountability for service provision to all lines of business with key emphasis on device protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare daily & weekly performance reports for Management / Program teams.

  • Perform such in-period reconciliations between key Sales & Materials systems as may be required to support the Finance team in improving process effectiveness, efficiency and reliability. 

  • Prepare accurate and timely reports to support Partner Program Reporting & scheduled meetings.

  • Support the Commercial Manager in ensuring that financial issues arising in Partner Programs are escalated efficiently and effectively.      

  • Ensure that Partner portals are maintained accurately & efficiently.

  • Work with the AR and AP teams respectively to ensure that AR and AP ledger accounts relating to partners are accurate and up to date.

  • Support the Group Management in communicating and achieving margin and working capital targets. 

  • Support Commercial Manager in the preparation of timely and accurate month end reporting – including but not limited to – paid claims reconciliations, supplier rebate calculations, other month end activities

  • Provide variance analysis on the month end results to support understanding of actual performance and forecast in the Management Accounts.

  • Work with stakeholders to identify and report on business trends and value opportunities, assisting in the delivery and measurement of the value delivered.

  • Provide operational input to support day to day tasks within the Finance department and ensure tasks are completed to a high standard.

  • Support in the delivery of robust financial control procedures, maintaining appropriate process and policy documentation.

  • Working with the wider Finance team – to recommend, participate in and as appropriate, lead Finance process, systems or tooling transformation activity

  • Where necessary, assist with annual audit, preparation of statutory accounts and tax planning / compliance activities.

  • To carry out any other reasonable duties defined by the Company to ensure business objectives / requirements are met.

FCA Conduct Responsibilities
Likewize is authorised by the FCA which means that we must meet a range of requirements, standards and rules, If we don’t all work to meet these standards the FCA have a range of enforcement powers they can use to protect consumers and act against firms and individuals. Those enforcement powers include imposing financial penalties or prohibiting individuals from
carrying out regulated activities.

Formal Qualifications & Practical Experience

  • Part-qualified CIMA or ACCA or relevant Degree / HND educated with minimum 2 years’ experience or QBE with minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar environment.

  • Experience working in the mobile phone industry and insurance is preferred.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills – working with high volumes of data

  • Experience of designing & implementing sustainable Xcel, SaaS or database models would be an advantage.

  • Clear thinking, with sound understanding of calculating profitability on deals and able to make recommendations from data

  • Superb communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work under pressure, to react fast to changes & meet tight deadlines

  • Happy working as a sole-contributor and able to work effectively in a cross functional team
