Job Description

Applications management involves overseeing the lifecycle of software applications, including deployment, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization to ensure they meet business requirements and deliver value effectively. 

Our client is Kingfisher, a British multinational home improvement company, headquartered in London. The organization is currently expanding the Cloud Engineering team and, as part of this initiative, we are currently seeking a skilled Senior Cloud Engineer for the Developer Experience team to join our ranks.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer at Endava, you will play an integral part in our innovative tech hub, engaging with various aspects of technology. The position is a hybrid one, based in Cluj, requiring office presence two days per week.

You will be responsible for:

• Collaboration: focus on continuous improvement, striving to work closely with engineers and ensure our capabilities are engineer friendly.
• Engineering Capabilities: contribute to the development and maintenance of engineering capabilities, ensuring they are well-documented, easy to use, and meet the needs of our engineers.
• Documentation: create and maintain high-quality documentation that is clear, concise, and up to date. This includes API documentation, tutorials, how-to guides, and FAQs.
• Community Engagement: actively engage with our developer community through forums, online communities, and social media. Respond to questions, gather feedback, and advocate for developer needs.
• Testing and Feedback: conduct thorough testing of our engineer tooling and platform, and gather feedback from engineers to identify areas for improvement.
• Performance Analysis: monitor key metrics related to developer experience, such as time to first hello world, API usage, etc.
• Best Practices: stay up-to-date on industry best practices for developer experience and advocate for their adoption within the company.

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of the software development lifecycle to effectively troubleshoot and advocate for best practice.
• Strong experience using an enterprise CI/CD platform such as GitLab (preferred), GitHub Actions, Circle CI, etc.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Proficient with one or more programming languages (JavaScript, Typescript, Java, Python) and familiar with various development tools and frameworks.
• Experience with AWS, and ideally with additional cloud providers.
• Experience with agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Considerable experience within the experience/appreciation/understanding of developing software with quality.
• A genuine enthusiasm and passion for developer experience and a desire to make a difference in the engineering community.
• Broad understanding of the tech industry, markets, trends, emerging technologies, and their implications for retail organisations.
• Effective and creative analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity to quickly identify simple/effective solutions
