Senior Category Marketing Manager – Shark Clean Hard Floor and Carpet Cleaning Categories

London / Hybrid

As part of the phenomenal growth SharkNinja EMEA has achieved over the last few years we have an exciting new opportunity for a Senior Category Marketing Manager to lead our Hard Floor and Carpet Cleaning team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving awareness of the brand, category and select products within the portfolio. 

This regional role will support all markets across EMEA. Working closely with the Category Marketing Manager cross-functionally, you will develop and deliver the ‘Go-to-Market’ strategy for the category. Great project management and business acumen skills with the ability to manage several projects in parallel are a must to succeed in this fast-paced environment.  

We are looking for a strategic leader with a broad spectrum of marketing and commercial skills from storytelling to building commercial product and category plans; taking data and forming it into actionable insights. 

As ambassador for the product group, you are the key driver and point of contact for the US team, responsible for the creation and implementation of the annual Product Strategy and Brand Communication plan across EMEA. As custodian of your category, you will uphold the Global strategic vision, positioning and brand identity, together with The CMM and IMC through localized Product Communication strategies while keeping a pulse on the performance and trading of the SKUs so you can act accordingly.  

To support this role there  will be two category managers.

  • Key interface role with US, Exec, Product Development, Marketing Comms, Creative, PR and local countries to develop the category and communications plan  
  • Responsibility for Category Plan and its implementation  
  • Excellent virtual management, communication skills balanced with sound business acumen. Capable of influencing exceptional marketing plans that clearly communicate the key message of the product group both internally and externally and deliver the business goals by region.  
  • Lead and coordinate and deliver our targets through direct and indirect partners.  
  • Collaborate with Product Development team and country teams to achieve key KPIs, revenue, volume, share, profit and investment targets 
  • Support and influence product launch materials and product launch communication, ranging and sell through  
  • Deeply understand, interpret and champion the category, the market, its consumers, channels and competitors within Regional, Country and US teams and reflect in the plan  
  • Actively track and report the status of the plan, identifying and analysing areas of performance. Go deep to understand what is behind the performance and make recommendations on how to correct or offset. Work with peer group, PD, Media, Countries and wider business to rapidly escalate opportunties and build effective growth plan  
  • Actively make recommendation on how to respond to changes in the market and actual performance to update, evolve and implement new activities and actions to achieve plan and objectives within any given period  
  • Understanding of Shark Ninja segmentation and customer audiences to set communications strategy  
  • The SCMM works cross functionally, aligns with The US and countries to set branding strategy, pricing and channelisation  

Responsibilities  

  • Support the Category Marketing Manager to bring new launches to market. Developing a marketing plan with the regional and country marketing team to strive for flawless execution at launch 
  • Alongside IMC, oversee the continued refinement and development of all go-to-market communications and content across all consumer touch points  
  • Alongside IMC, oversee the development of dedicated brand campaigns and report on performance 
  • Drive a consumer first mentality to develop relevant messaging and creative assets that embody our brand positioning and deliver clear consumer understanding of the products and brand  
  • Together with The CMM, be the category expert and leaders: understand consumer, price, positioning, competitive landscape and market needs by digesting insights, connect the dots, and effectively summarise conclusions to help better inform roadmap or launch plans  
  • Support The Category Marketing Manager to work with Studio and IMC to develop brand toolkit, brand guidelines and playbook  
  • Drive and develop sell-in decs and work with Sales and TMM to bring our products to life  
  • Partner with cross-functional teams and external agencies to continually drive creation of breakthrough content such as packaging, digital, social, influencer, brand partnerships and CRM, continuously iterating and improving  

To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:  

Essential hard skills:  

  • 10 years+ of experience in the area of Brand strategy, Product Marketing, preferably within Beauty/Haircare  
  • Leadership and management experience  
  • EU/Multi matrix org management  
  • Proposition development & execution experience  
  • Product Lifecycle management experience with technical aptitude  
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent  
  • Strong numeracy/commercial acumen  
  • Exceptional skills in Microsoft office packages, especially excel  
  • Strong verbal, written and presentation abilities  
  • Relentless collaboration
