Position Summary

Delva Tool (DTM), a CMT company, is seeking a Senior Buyer for our Cinnaminson, NJ location. The Senior Buyer will purchase materials and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures. Responsible for supply chain and vendor management. Establish and maintain strategic sourcing relationships with emphasis on quality, delivery, and cost. Responsibility also includes helping to define, develop, and refine the purchasing system to meet the needs of internal and external customers. *This position works a schedule of Monday thru Friday. The salary for this position is between $100,000 - $115,000/year depending on experience*

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Purchases materials and services according to the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate terms and conditions.
  • Maintains purchase orders to support ongoing material supply, including long-term contracts.
  • Coordinates with Engineering Manager to ensure uninterrupted supply of required material.
  • Provides timely updates on the status of any supplier quality or delivery problems to management.
  • Maintains open lines of communication with suppliers for prompt resolution of quality or delivery problems.
  • Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
  • Works with vendors to negotiate quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
  • Maintains supply system database for proper sourcing, procurement lead times, order quantities, prices, and internal delivery requirements, etc.
  • Monitor’s supplier performance and holds supplier accountable for performance levels.
  • Continually improve processes and procedures to better serve the organization, vendors, and customers.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Experience, Qualifications, and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of purchasing experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
