Major Duties & Responsibilities: (List the major responsibilities of the position. Most jobs have 8 major job responsibilities that represent the essential function of the position.) *
- To develop Strategic Supplier capabilities to effectively support overall sourcing and negotiation requirements.
- Maintaining close liaison with suppliers on their production capacities, readiness and material supply.
- Support business functions and segments in their RFI/RFQ activities. Make sourcing decisions based on overall cost and benefit including price, duty, freight, flexibility, service, performance, quality, and terms & conditions.
- Actively explore and be able to source new technologies through market research to meet company future requirements.
- To lead cost saving projects involving a cross-functional team through alternative material/part recommendation and qualification plans that meet product requirements.
- Influencing the product design to ensure materials manufacturability and conformance with the global supply chain.
- Collaborate to the lowest total cost of ownership sourcing solutions for assigned commodities.
- Manage Supplier business review, and work with Supplier Quality Engineering on qualifying new suppliers. Skilled at developing and leveraging effective business partnerships internally and externally.
- Demonstrated ability to create alternative approaches to overcome roadblocks, able to identify and capitalize on opportunities and make quality decisions despite incomplete information.
- Understand and manage holistic, global value supply chains that lead to a competitive advantage and effectively manage complex sourcing requirements.
- Review and maintain updated records of approved and qualified suppliers for the assigned commodity. Ensure data integrity (supplier data, materials data including price and currency) is kept and maintained at all times.
- Manage, drive and monitor improvement of supplier performance through effective supplier management. Work with key stakeholders/end-user to identify indicators to track.
- Prepare reports as required. Ensures application of Quality Policy of the Company in his/her area of responsibility.
- Ensure compliance with Procurement policies & Procedures.
