PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, data analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, data profiling, task and workflow analysis. Additionally, if BSS's are on staff, the Sr. BSS leads, assists, coordinates and reviews their work. Otherwise, the Sr. BSS will develop and/or maintain various kinds of business process models and data flow models directly.
Review requirements documented as stories in Agile Project Management software (e.g. Visual Studio Team Services, JIRA Agile) to ensure stories are ready for the next step in the development process.
If/when CRSP hires Business Systems Specialists (BSS), then under general supervision, the Sr. BSS plans and assigns tasks to BSS's. The Sr. BSS mentors, provides guidance, training and functional advice to BSS's.
Lead the effort to develop use cases and other types of documents that provide detail for complex requirements. Additionally. if BSS's are on staff, the Sr. BSS leads, coordinates and reviews the effort of BSS's (if applicable) to gather and document all types of requirements. Otherwise, the Sr. BSS will gather and document the requirements directly.
Lead, plan and facilitate various analysis and design meetings.
Apply comprehensive knowledge of business analysis, promote and utilize best practices to ensure the completion of difficult assignments.
Train end users as needed and serve as a resource for them after a new system release.
Assist in the development of project planning documents including project proposals, project charters, project scope statements, and project plans.
Assist in the analysis of change requests in relation to existing project plans - including cost analysis, quality analysis, and impact analysis on requirements and specifications.
Function as a liaison between various departments to facilitate collaboration and communications.
Participate as a project team member and communicate with other team members, the overall CRSP staff, and senior management.
Research system data output to identify inconsistencies and anomalies and to validate that the data to be loaded into the system is correct.
Examine suspect data before and after processing activities to ensure data integrity and data quality is maintained.
Provide information for user- and subscriber- documentation and create training materials to assist staff in implementing technical solutions.
Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Educational requirement: Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in business, management or computer science or equivalent is required; a BA or BS degree in Finance or Business Information Systems is preferred.
A Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) certification from the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) is preferred.
At least four (4) years prior experience as a Business Systems Specialist or Business Analyst is required.
At least four (4) years of overall Business Analysis experience is required.
Demonstrated ability to lead/document interviews, capture requirements and gain consensus is required.
Experience working with developers, QA/QC analysts, project managers, end-users, and product owners is required.
Experience working in a cross-functional, teamwork-oriented environment is required.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with both business staff (e.g. end-users and project managers) and technical staff (e.g. developers and quality analysts) is required.
Experience with the following is required: MS Project, MS Office, business plans, project planning documents, business process modeling software, test planning, and financial data.
Working knowledge of financial research and investment concepts and terminology is preferred.
Experience with SQL is required.
Experience working with large financial data sets is preferred.
Familiarity with test planning is required.
