DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Systems Analyst with Workday experience to join our dynamic team. This role will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing Workday solutions to support our Finance team and business operations. The ideal candidate will drive system enhancements, provide analytical insights, and work cross-functionally to align Workday configurations with the firm’s investment and business strategies.
The role entails engagement at various levels in all technology related initiatives from inception to implementation and support. Through in-depth knowledge of the business, this position will configure business processes, develop needs analysis, document functional & technical specifications, perform system & user acceptance testing, and effectively communicate complex technology concepts to various levels of stakeholders. The successful candidate will build strong relationships with stakeholders by delivering and presenting impactful, technology-driven solutions that provide strategic insights and improve operational efficiency across diverse business units.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide ongoing evaluations of technology solutions and capabilities to ensure alignment with business objectives. Identify areas of risk, while monitoring the current environment, potential improvement areas, and the financial implications of those decisions
- Gather, validate, document, and facilitate implementation of business requirements for technology initiatives (includes business/data requirements, data flows, data modeling, workflow context and design, and user interface designs)
- Participate in user acceptance testing and support system training / documentation
- Form strong working relationships with internal users - both business and technical
- Ability to balance responsibilities related to production support and project tasks simultaneously
- Create documentation in support of business and technology requests
- Manage Workday releases, testing, and system upgrades, ensuring smooth adoption of new features.
TECHNOLOGY EXPERIENCE:
- Strong expertise in supporting Workday Financials
- Expertise building integrations to/from Workday and XML transformations required
- Expertise in SQL required
- Prior Experience in financial reporting and analytics a plus
- Prior experience supporting Corporate functional areas such as Human Resources, Corporate Finance, Compliance, Tax or Legal a plus
- Familiarity with technology architectures and concepts: cloud computing, web interfaces, relational databases, application integration
- Hands on experience understanding business requirements, designing, prototyping, testing solutions and training users in an agile environment
- Experience working in teams using agile software project management processes
- In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in supporting & implementing applications
- Proficiency in business intelligence applications (Tableau or Power BI) a plus
- Competent in taking details from elicitation sessions and delivering requirements documentation
- Competent in developing workflow and functional Use Cases
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in computer science, management information systems and/or finance or business
- 3+ years of relevant experience; previous consulting experience a plus
- Workday certifications in relevant modules a plus
- Experience with Workday Prism Analytics, Workforce Planning, Strategic Sourcing, Extend, or Studio integrations a plus
- Experience with investment management, private equity, venture capital, alternatives investment / finance concepts / terminology and systems a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills, ability to analyze complex data and present actionable insights
- Experience with a functionally diverse, informed user base that demands high quality solutions
- A self-starter with a proactive approach to problem-solving and idea generation
- Must be able to work on multiple initiatives simultaneously and prioritize assignments to deliver quality work in a timely manner
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
