Job Summary: The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer will focus on developing, maintaining, and managing advanced Power BI reporting and analytics. This role involves collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and design scalable BI solutions that provide actionable insights to support financial efficiency and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate should have experience working with large complex data models and setting up scalable security and governance structures in Power BI.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, design, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to deliver insights that drive financial performance and decision-making
  • Collaborate with financial stakeholders to understand their data needs and translate them into technical requirements
  • Conduct detailed financial data analysis and provide insights to support strategic financial decisions
  • Optimize Power BI dashboards and reports for performance and scalability
  • Train and mentor junior analysts in Power BI best practices and data visualization techniques focused on finance
  • Stay updated with the latest Power BI features and industry trends in finance to ensure the organization leverages the best tools and methodologies
  • Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to ensure proper integration and deployment of BI solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any data or performance issues related to Power BI reports
  • Develop and maintain documentation for BI processes, reports, and dashboards

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, Finance, or related experience
  • Typically requires around 5+ years' experience in data analysis and BI development
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience using Power BI in a financial context

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases
  • Proficient in DAX, Power Query, and data modeling, particularly with financial data
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills tailored to financial data analysis
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience with data visualization best practices and techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Additional Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Power BI is a plus
  • Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau or Looker
  • Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, JDE, and cloud-based data services and platforms (e.g., Azure, Databricks)

The pay range shown below is aligned with McKesson's pay philosophy, and pay will always be compliant with any applicable regulations. Our Base Pay Range for this position

$108,000 - $180,000
