Business Data & Analytics (BD&A) is a Corporate Shared Service comprised of the existing data and analytics resources in Predictive Analytics, Enterprise Data Management and Enterprise Analytics, as well as the newly created Enterprise Telematics Team.   

Combining these units into one business technology and business data & analytics organization, provides a clearer line of sight across the P&C division for business decision-making and input to data and analytics investments; while better empowering, enabling and equipping our division-specific analytics teams the ability to outperform their peers.

Our Business Data & Analytics group is looking to hire a Senior Business Analyst to join their team in Cincinnati, OH. This position will operate on a hybrid schedule.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Analyzes complex business issues and defines advanced requirements to design analytic solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Collaborates with business stakeholders, project manager and/or cross-functional project teams to gather information, model intricate systems requirements, and document specifications.
  • Leads the development and implementation of automated system protocols that reduce manual processes, increasing overall operational efficiency.
  • Develops and refines workflow charts and diagrams to document analytic assets for continuity.
  • Develops comprehensive end-user documentation and delivers training to ensure successful adoption and optimal use of new systems.
  • Guides analytic asset review lifecycle ensuring assets are current and meeting strategic business needs as the organization grows.
  • Consults with business stakeholders on BI Tool usage to increase utilization, improve data literacy and advance data driven decision making.
  • Monitors project milestones, phases, and elements to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery and alignment with project objectives.
  • May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.

Experience: Generally, a minimum of 10 years of related experience that includes experience in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and/or maintaining BI applications required or configuring and using application software in a business setting.

Scope of Job/Qualifications: Provides requirements guidance to program manager, project manager and/or project teams. Participates in all phases of the requirements life cycle and requirements teams for complex programs and projects. Makes recommendations for Best Practices and introduces new techniques/tools to the BA Practice (including methods/approaches). Exhibits advanced business knowledge and ability to identify and define business needs including a high level of understanding of the organization's business and technology operations. May serve as Scrum Master on an agile team, helping the team through a combination of facilitation and coaching, while also helping those outside the team understand how to interact with the team. Will serve as an agile development team member, creating and testing the analytic assets. Advanced analytical skills with the ability to gather and analyze data to drive decision-making. Viewed as a senior resource on the team. Provides technical advice and support to lower-level positions.
