The Role
The Senior Business Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring that Envato meets its regulatory obligations and maintains its reputation as a trusted partner in the creative ecosystem.
This role focuses on breaking down complex compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, DSA) into actionable projects and work streams, and coordinating their delivery across relevant domain product development teams via the PDLC. As a key member of our Product Development organisation, you will ensure that compliance projects match our business’ risk appetite, align to our business objectives, are implemented effectively, and deliver value to our customers and stakeholders.
This is an 18 month fixed term position.
What you'll be doing
- Lead compliance project analysis, emphasising robust problem analysis to identify and address potential regulatory challenges effectively.
- Ensure alignment with global regulations and Envato's strategic objectives, maintaining a clear compliance direction.
- Act as the main contact for compliance inquiries between Product Development and Legal, Risk & Compliance teams.
- Translate compliance requirements into clear, actionable tasks for product development and engineering teams.
- Document project boundaries, objectives, and deliverables to ensure clarity and alignment with risk and compliance needs.
- Collaborate with Product Trios to guide compliance projects through the Product Development Lifecycle (PDLC).
- Ensure smooth transition of compliance projects through different PDLC phases while aligning with business risk appetite.
- Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to validate solutions that meet compliance requirements.
- Communicate project statuses, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders to maintain transparency and alignment.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Product Managers, Engineering Leads, Legal, Risk, Compliance teams, and external consultants, vendors, and partners as needed.
- Facilitate informed decisions on prioritisation and scope to balance compliance requirements with business objectives, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with strategic goals.
About you
- Extensive experience (5+ years) as a Business Analyst, with a focus on compliance and regulatory projects, preferably in a digital environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to break down complex requirements into actionable tasks.
- Exceptional communication abilities, conveying complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional teams and multiple projects.
- High attention to detail, ensuring thorough analysis and accurate documentation.
- Collaborative mindset, working effectively across teams and departments.
- Professionally self-aware, seeking feedback and continuously improving.
- Upholds honesty, transparency, and integrity, aligning with Envato’s values.
