The key objectives of the Senior BI Developer are to facilitate, develop and implement multi-disciplinary cross-functional BI data projects and to provide support to the business in respect of OMAI’s existing system/data capabilities. The role requires extensive involvement in all phases of the development lifecycle, from analysis and development through to testing and deployment

Key Result Ares:

Development

• Partner with the OMAI investment business units and professional partners to scope business requirements and identify where data can have the greatest impact from a BI perspective
• Facilitate the development & implementation of multi-disciplinary cross-functional BI projects
• Provide support to the business in respect of OMAI’s existing BI capabilities
• Effective planning and prioritising of multi-disciplinary cross-functional BI projects
• Lead development projects by assisting, coaching and mentoring junior team members
• Collaborate with data owners to increase BI reporting capabilities
• Develop against OMAI’s Data Architecture reference model, Data Spectrum and Taxonomy.
• Liaise with stakeholders to coordinate data sources, eliminate duplication, while focusing on data quality and reliability in BI models
• Additional tasks include project planning, validating data, and unit and system testing, and coordination of development activities.
• Provide support to and develop solutions for the business in respect of OMAI’s existing software and application capabilities

Testing

• Ensure unit testing is completed
• Implement corrections and changes as required by the business units
• Create automated testing processes

Application Support

• Ensure operational stability of applications by providing proactive and reactive first-line support.
• Provide first line support and root cause analysis of production issues for all applications

Collaboration, Interaction and Stakeholder Management

• Mentoring junior team members
• Ability to manage senior relationships across all the Business and Functional areas.
• Ability to develop cooperative and constructive working relationships.
• Ability to handle complaints, settle disputes and resolve conflicts and negotiate with others.
• Collaborate with fellow developers and teams via code reviews and knowledge sharing sessions.

Skills, Qualifications & Experience required :

• Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Management or equivalent.
• At least 10 years’ relevant experience, in a BI developer role
• At least 5 years’ experience in asset management or financial services experience. Experience in the Alternative Investment industry would be an advantage
• Strong SQL experience, at least 8 years, including creating stored procedures, functions, automating jobs, performance tuning and optimization.
• At least 4 years SSIS experience, including creating complex ETL processes, error handling, loading data from various sources, and integrating new data into data warehouses.  
• Develop and maintain reports using SSRS and Power BI, etc.  
• Knowledge of data governance practices and emerging trends (preferable)
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modelling) and data mining
• eFront Invest knowledge would be an advantage
• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
