Your Role:
As a Senior Calibration Engineer on our Battery Management System (BMS) team, you will collaborate with some of the brightest minds in the industry to accelerate the delivery of high-quality products to market. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and optimizing BMS control calibrations, ensuring the system's reliability and enhancing the customer experience. Work with various cross-functional teams to develop BMS calibration for new BMS features, diagnostics, algorithms, etc
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and refine BMS calibrations for new features, diagnostics, algorithms, and other functionalities.
- Develop and optimize control calibrations to meet performance and timing targets.
- Conduct calibration reviews to ensure quality standards are met.
- Coordinate and plan calibration activities with the vehicle team to maximize resource efficiency.
- Support identification and allocation of resources necessary for calibration development.
- Diagnose and resolve issues in vehicle systems, controls, and BMS components.
- Assist in resolving issues that arise in vehicle testing, plant operations, durability testing, and customer feedback.
- Apply modeling, simulation, and analytical techniques in the calibration process.
- Develop, document, and update calibration procedures and protocols.
- Support the development of control algorithms and the integration of new features and functions.
- Participate in testing activities, including development trips and related field tests.
- Contribute to BMS Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent field with proven evidence of exceptional ability.
- 5+ years of experience in BMS calibration.
- Strong experience with calibration development, including modeling, simulation, and analytical methods.
- Proficiency in documenting calibration processes and procedures. Familiarity with CAN, LIN, and Ethernet networks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in embedded controls, controls integration, or hardware development.
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and adapt to planned and unplanned work.
- Experience with vehicle development processes.
- Hands-on experience with controls testing, instrumentation, and related tools.
- Knowledge of building test benches for unit testing and documentation of embedded control functions.
- Experience with real-time simulation systems (Hardware-in-the-Loop).
- Proficiency in battery systems control, including charge/discharge operations.
- Experience in developing battery management systems for large battery packs.
- Programming skills in C/C++. Familiarity with requirements analysis and development.
Annual Salary Range:
($112K - $140K DOE), plus benefits and incentive plans
