We’re looking for a Sr. Backend Java Developer to join our ever-evolving Cybersecurity team to help us unleash the potential of every business.

About the team:

As a Senior Software Engineer with Lead responsibilities on the Billing and Funding Team, you'll play a pivotal role in the Worldpay engineering organization by developing core versions of software applications purchased by our external clients. You will leverage your expertise in Java to design and build scalable, high-performance solutions that meet the complex requirements of our financial services clients.

What you’ll own:

• Develop core versions of software applications for sale to external clients
• Identify client purchasing requirements and technical specifications through Product Management and/or client representatives
• Interact with engineering groups to assist in design changes to equipment and/or software
• Train and communicate with clients on systems application
   

What you bring:

• 10+ years Java Development experience and a strong engineering background with expertise in designing and building highly scalable, loosely coupled, event driven, distributed systems
•  Expertise in writing web-applications, using Java and database persistence
•  Capable of leading by example and establishing industry best practice across all functions of the team including software development, TDD/BDD, DevOps & cloud
•  Experience of leading change and establishing engineering best practice in technical teams
•  Demonstrated accountability for a production service having contributed to the service build
•  Knowledgeable on BDD / TDD practices Design/Architecture
•  Knowledgeable on Microservice Architecture
•  Knowledgeable with current technology architectures and approaches such as Event Driven Design, Domain Driven Design, Event Sourcing & CQRS Technical
   

Technical Skills (Must Have)

•  Experience building enterprise applications using Java (Java 8)
•  Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL)
•  Knowledgeable on DevOps best practices, technologies and tools (Ansible, terraform)
   

Technical Skills (Nice To Have)

•  Experience with Apache ecosystem, including Spark and Hadoop, Kafka
•  Experience of building web-applications in the cloud (AWS)
•  Knowledge of Fargate, EKS, EC2, EMR
