WHO YOU ARE
Artemis Health is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will play a significant role in building and scaling our data platform. You will be responsible for designing and developing fast, scalable, and maintainable data pipelines using Spark. Your work will directly impact our ability to reduce costs and improve patient outcomes in healthcare.
What You'll Do:
- Design and develop fast Spark data pipelines
- Ability to work well in Scala or Python
- Optimize Spark jobs for performance and resource utilization
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to understand problems
- Deliberately measure and design before coding, collaborating on designs
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
- Stay curious, ask questions, experiment
- Build enough tests to have confidence in changes
What You'll Have:
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering focused on backend development
- 3+ years of experience with (Scala or Python) and Spark
- Proficiency in functional programming concepts
- Experience maintaining deployment pipelines or K8S
- Experience with distributed systems tradeoffs
- Delights in beautiful, elegant, and readable code
- Experience with SQL
- Ability to pause and critically think about problems
- Driven to improve software practices
