Role Description
Our Corporate IT Engineering team are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Atlassian Administrator to manage and optimize our suite of Atlassian products. We are undergoing a migration from JIRA on premises to JIRA Cloud, and this role will be crucial in ensuring our teams have the tools and support they need to collaborate effectively and drive productivity. You will be a key partner and SME working with the PMO to align Jira to our SDLC and best practices for running Agile. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Atlassian applications, excellent problem-solving skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain our Atlassian suite, including Jira Cloud, Confluence and other related tools. This includes user management, permissions, workflows, customizations, and integrations.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure optimal performance and scalability.
- Provide technical support and training to end-users on Atlassian tools and best practices.
- Develop and maintain user documentation.
- Design, implement, and maintain workflows, automations, and integrations to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Evaluate, install, configure, and manage Atlassian Marketplace plugins to extend the functionality of the platform.
- Implement and maintain security best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Work closely with stakeholders across different teams to understand their needs and provide effective solutions. Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations, processes, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Atlassian features and best practices, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
Many teams at Dropbox run Services with on-call rotations, which entails being available for calls during both core and non-core business hours. If a team has an on-call rotation, all engineers on the team are expected to participate in the rotation as part of their employment. Requirements
- Proven experience as an Atlassian Administrator with experience managing a large and complex Atlassian environment >2000 users
- Deep understanding of Jira Cloud, Confluence and other relevant Atlassian products
- Experience with workflow customization using plugins such as scriptrunner, automation rules, jira workflow extensions or scripting (e.g., Groovy)
- Experience with Atlassian API libraries to build integrations with Jira cloud or Confluence Cloud
- Strong understanding of user management, permissions, and security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other DevOps tools and technologies
- Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
- Knowledge of regular expressions and Atlassian Assets
- Knowledge of popular add-ons such as Rich Filter Dashboard, Time to SLA, Exalate and Structure.
- Experience with cloud-based Atlassian products (e.g., Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud)
- Familiarity with ITIL or other IT service management frameworks
- Experience with Agile methodologies
- Atlassian certifications (e.g., ACP-120 )
