This position will be a hybrid work arrangement, which translates to 3 days minimum per week in the office.

Based in the HarbourVest Zurich office, the Senior Associate will be part of the DACH Private Wealth Team, which is responsible for building new and broadening existing relationships with private wealth channels across the region.

This position supports wealth business development and fundraising across the DACH region and demands a high degree of collaboration with the global wealth team and colleagues based around the world.

The ideal candidate is someone who is:

  • Has demonstrated success in managing client relationships and passion in business development activities.

  • Has shown some ability to close new and existing clients/prospects and cross sell as part of a solution selling approach

  • Possesses some network of private wealth relationships in the region with experience working with GPs and/or distribution partners

  • Highly passionate/ motivated (self-starter) and can work across multiple teams and different levels of seniority

  • Understands the private wealth industry and private markets open-ended and closed-ended products

  • Is proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint and Salesforce

  • Is able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects, is resourceful and can initiate new business
     

What you will do:

  • Support wealth business development and fundraising across DACH such as maintaining records of client interactions, sales activities and project managing follow-ups

  • Assist sales leads in mapping, sourcing, developing and managing relationships with existing and new Private Wealth partners such as global/regional/local banks/intermediaries/platforms and asset managers

  • Strengthen and support the firm’s interactions with existing as well as prospective clients including supporting global PB product launches and responding to asks from local sales teams

  • Prepare responses to queries and aid the production of collateral for investors as well as internal Salesforce reports and analysis

  • Roll out sponsorships, fund launches and events to promote HarbourVest’s products and solutions to key stakeholders.

  • Conduct market research, competitor analysis, track new product launches, new structures to better position HarbourVest’s product
     

What you bring:

  • Attention to detail, very well organized and structured, with dedication to excellence. Strong project management skills and ability to solve problems with a client-focused approach

  • Highly adaptable and willing to work to tight deadlines in an ambitious environment

  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate in a polished, professional manner

  • Strong relationship management, project management and business building skills

  • Familiarity with private markets; baseline understanding of product structures

  • German native speaker mandatory. Fluency in Swiss-German and French is a plus.
     

Education Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic background in finance, accounting, economics or a similar, relevant field.

  • Master’s degree is a bonus.

  • CFA, CAIA is a plus
     

Experience:

  • 5+ years experience in private markets, private wealth business development, client service, investment consulting, or a related field.
