Capital One is seeking to hire a Senior Associate in the Controllers Accounting Department supporting the Credit Accounting function. This role requires a combination of accounting and financial analysis expertise. Primary responsibilities include executing critical reporting activities and delivering dynamic analyses for the Company's key credit quality metrics and financial results.
Detailed activities and responsibilities include:

• Developing a strong technical understanding of key drivers of credit and financial results for all lines of business,
• Executing reporting and dynamic analytical activities for credit and financial results and communicating to critical internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership,
• Building and leveraging relationships with various business partners, including finance and credit risk management, to drive new insights,
• Managing key financial reporting timelines, including month and quarter-end close,
• Leveraging existing and adopting new technologies to enhance reporting and analytics,
• Leading process improvement initiatives and projects to reduce risk,
• Supporting compliance activities for management, including internal audit and external audit groups by providing documentation and addressing queries,
• Supporting activities conducted throughout the enterprise on behalf of Credit Accounting,
• Ability to reach well-reasoned conclusions on financial reporting and disclosure issues,
• Working independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or military experience
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, finance, or a combination

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting, external financial reporting, audit, or finance, or a combination
• At least 2 years of experience in banking, financial services, or a combination
• Experience with Accounting Systems such as Workday, Peoplesoft, SAP, or Oracle Financials
• Experience with reporting systems such as Onestream, Tableau, or Google Data Studio

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
McLean, VA: $94,600 - $107,900 for Sr. Associate, Accounting
Richmond, VA: $86,000 - $98,200 for Sr. Associate, Accounting
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
