Overall Objective of the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Applicative DBA to join our team and take ownership of the performance, design, and maintenance of our product-related databases. The ideal candidate is a hands-on expert in SQL Server, has a strong understanding of database performance optimization, and enjoys collaborating with development teams to design efficient, scalable, and robust database solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database structures that align with business requirements.
- Analyse, troubleshoot, and resolve query performance issues and production database slowdowns.
- Develop and implement tools for database maintenance, monitoring, and migrations.
- Plan and execute database deployments, including schema changes and upgrades.
- Monitor and ensure database health, including backups, indexing, and capacity planning.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in database technologies.
- Provide guidance and mentoring to development teams on database best practices.
Requirements
Must Have:
- BSc. / B.A. in Computer Science / Software Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience as an applicative DBA with SQL Server.
- Deep understanding of SQL query optimization, indexing strategies, and execution plans.
- Strong experience in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience in database design, modeling, and schema management.
- Proficient in creating automation tools for database maintenance and migration.
- Experience with database deployment processes and version control for schemas.
- Experience in Big Data (billions of rows tables) performance and analytics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and fluent English.
