Adverum is looking for a Senior Applications/Engineer/Applications Manager with an emphasis on Lab Systems/Analytics to join our team in our Redwood City office. This person will be working with one or more business functions in support of a portfolio of applications. This role is responsible for planning and supporting the applications assigned to them.
What you'll do:
- You will be aligned with functional areas that have labs, including, but not limited to Quality Control, Assay Development, Process Development, and Research.
- Be assigned a suite of applications, including, but not limited to Benchling, Waters Empower, SoftMax Pro and, QuantStudio. The apps assigned to you may be periodically load balanced with your colleagues.
- Train on, follow, create and review (GxP) SOPs to maintain GxP compliance of GxP systems.
- Manage GxP processes around change control, deviations, etc. for assigned systems.
- General administration of assigned applications.
- Create, update and follow documentation related to the applications, including, but not limited to Service Requests, Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Change Control, etc.
- Partner with business owner(s) and other relevant functional areas such as Quality Control, Assay Development, Process Development, and Research.
- Stay abreast of changes to the applications and make recommendations to the business owner. Generate application and functional area roadmaps.
- Generate dashboards related applications supported for business owners, including application health.
- Manage backlog of changes, fixes and improvements to the system and work with business owner to prioritize.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain systems as “audit ready” where required. Represent systems to internal and external auditors.
- Project intake and execution
- Maintain runbook(s) and related documentation to outsource operational tasks, such as user provisioning, to managed services and/or offshore resources in support of supported applications. Provide oversight to ensure processes are effectively followed.
- Ensure application compliance with Adverum IT Security Policy.
About you:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 8 years industry experience + 4 years’ experience in Lab Informatics (Lab Systems, Lab PC Support)
- General understanding of application-level security (to be aligned with Adverum Security Policy).
- Experience supporting Electronic Lab Notebook system, Chromatography data systems, LIMS, other lab related systems.
- Experience with Benchling strongly preferred
- Waters Empower a plus.
- Experience with Lab Data Management
- Experience working in a lab GxP Environment
- Outstanding customer service
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to learn and support new applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required
