Job Description
Summary:
The Sr. Application Software Engineer will be responsible for delivering Bose audio solution to infotainment system of Bose automotive customers, including requirement analysis, software development, technical interfacing and trouble-shooting. The candidate is required to interact with customer, port and integrate Bose DSP algorithm features to customer’s hardware, e.g. head unit or amplifier.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience developing real-time embedded software. Expert in software design, coding and debugging.
- Proven experience in embedded systems design with preemptive, multitasking real-time operating systems
- Strong understanding of core embedded/RTOS Concepts – DMA, Shared Memory, ICC, Task Scheduling, Priorities, Interrupts
- Proven experience in low level hardware driver coding and trouble shooting
- Expert knowledge of embedded C. Understanding of software engineering practices, and advanced software concepts.
- Adequate knowledge of reading schematics and data sheets for components
- Prior experiences with software development on SoC and DSP cores, such as ADI Griffin and Qualcomm Snapdragon.
- Outstanding customer technical interfacing, root cause analysis and problem-solving skills. Willing to work with head unit supplier, amplifier provider and customer.
- Great team player with internal and external engineering teams.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills in English. Effectively building relationships across the organization to facilitate communication.
- Open to domestic and international travel up to 25%.
- Ability to lead application software team on functional design, implementation, integration and SW verification, working as an expert of sub-discipline:
- Mentors other engineers in the team
- Recognizes tasks which need to be done.
- Participates in technology and product explorations.
- Joins code reviews and design reviews.
- Negotiates technical requirements with customers and internal engineering teams in order to solve technical problems.
- Helps to evaluate job candidates.
Preferred Experience:
- Automotive industry experience
- Working experience with AutoSAR and low-level driver
- Linux and/or Android software development for automotive
- Prior experiences with automotive networking protocols such as CAN, MOST, Ethernet AVB and A2B
- Experience developing software using any of the ADI SHARC family of processors is a big plus
- Knowledge/experience in Audio Domain
- Experience with one or more of the following peripheral protocols: I2C, UART, RS232, SPI
