The Senior Analyst, People Analytics will play a key role in providing analytical and system support to the HR Technology Team and the broader HR function. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining BI dashboards, data visualizations, and advanced reporting in Workday (advanced reports and dashboards) to drive strategic decision-making. The analyst will work with HR leaders across Talent Acquisition, Learning and Development, Total Rewards, and General HR to uncover actionable insights from workforce data. This position requires a proactive, self-starting individual who is passionate about leveraging HR data to influence business outcomes.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Develop, maintain, and optimize BI dashboards and data visualizations to support HR and business decision-making.

Create and maintain Workday Advanced Reports, including Advanced, Matrix, and Calculated Fields.

Aggregate HR metrics and data from multiple sources, including the HRIS, payroll, learning management systems, business intelligence data warehouse, employee surveys, exit interviews, and other sources.

Partner with HR and business leaders on data analysis projects, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, accurate, and meaningful insights.

Provide clear, visually compelling presentations of analytical findings to senior HR leadership and key stakeholders.

Support government compliance reporting, including BLS, EEO, and other regulatory requirements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities to improve workforce analytics and drive strategic HR initiatives.

Support system upgrades, enhancements, testing, and implementation of new modules and processes.

May guide and/or assist with other Human Resources Information Systems projects as assigned.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
-
2+ years of experience in Workday Reporting and various modules (HCM, Talent, Goals and Performance, Recruiting, and/or Learning), BI Dashboards and Data Visualization.

Workday Pro Reporting Certification or equivalent training preferred.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience handling large, complex datasets to drive business insights.

High proficiency in MS Excel (advanced formulas, Power Query, vlookup, etc.), with additional experience in programming languages such as R or Python preferred.

Strong ability to communicate complex data insights in a clear and impactful manner.

A passion for People Analytics, demonstrating curiosity and a data-driven mindset to answer critical workforce questions.

Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.

Ability to work independently, take initiative, and drive projects to completion with minimal supervision.
WHAT THE JOB REQUIRES:

Work is primarily conducted in an office setting. Requires sitting at a desk or workstation for extended periods. Involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers.

Requires the ability to work Monday through Friday. Entails in-person office requirements for a minimum of 3 days per week consistent with the Company’s hybrid policy, located at Essex's corporate offices in Irvine, Woodland Hills, San Mateo, and Bellevue. Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods. Minimal physical effort in the day-to-day tasks.

The salary range for this position is $91,000.00 - $136,000.00 per year. New hires generally start between $91,000.00 - $114,000.00 per year. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, including but not limited to skill sets; relevant experience; internal equity; and other business and organizational needs.
This role is also eligible to participate in Essex’s discretionary Annual Bonus program that is commensurate with the level of the position.
