Senior Analyst Engineer, Monitoring & Observability - RDO

YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, deploy, and manage Monitoring platform (Splunk/OpenSearch) infrastructure, including indexers, search heads, forwarders, and deployment servers.

• Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards, reports, and alerts to provide visibility into system performance and security.

• Integrate data sources into Splunk, AppDynamics, OpenSearch, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.

• Develop and manage data onboarding processes, including parsing, indexing, and data normalization.

• Monitor Splunk infrastructure for health and performance issues.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data collection, indexing, and search performance.

• Develop and maintain Python scripts for automating tasks and processes within the Splunk environment.

• Implement automation solutions to streamline data ingestion and monitoring workflows.

• Collaborate with IT and security teams to understand monitoring and observability requirements.

• Provide technical support and training to end users, ensuring effective use of the platform.

• Implement best practices for Splunk/OpenSearch architecture, data retention, and performance optimization.

• Continuously assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Monitoring environment.

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• 5+ years of experience in monitoring tools and observability tools.

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JSON Bash, or PowerShell.

• Experience in querying, analysing, creating metrics, and refining log event data.

• Experience in working in Splunk, Appdynamics and Opensearch/ELK, ability to create and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports in Splunk or Opensearch. (Any experience in other monitoring & observability tools are welcomed)

• Experience in working with a Git-based workflow.

• Can use high level instructions to produce technical outcomes.

• Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve monitoring and performance issues.

• Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.

• Ability to document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps clearly and comprehensively.

• Experience in Cloud computing and Amazon Web Services.

• Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology.
