Senior Analyst, Financial planning
We are currently hiring for a brilliant candidate to join the Marketing Team, supporting the UK & Ireland Division at Mastercard. Reporting to the Strategy, Planning and Operations Director, the Senior Marketing Analyst will play a key role in managing the Marketing Team’s (as well as the overall UK & I Team’s agenda) related to investment, planning and analysis. He or she will have the overall responsibility for all finance tasks and should be skilled in accounting, excel, and overall financial analytics.
Role
• Responsibility for all financial tasks and administration for the UKI Marketing and Communications team, including monthly/quarterly/annual analysis of variances against budget, forecast, prior year actuals, key business drivers and initiatives across all investments (e.g. purchase order management, monthly accruals review, forecasting, finance tool ownership and reporting)
• Responsibility for all end to end monthly, quarterly and annual forecast and close process, working cross-functionally across the marketing and communications team to ensure all information accurately logged, and collaboration with European and Global colleagues on variance alignment
• Manages and executes on financial requests from month to month, based on varying commitments across Europe, responding promptly to ad-hoc requests for information and analysis with a continual commitment to improving processes and efficiency
• Supports strategic annual and longer-term planning across the team by providing financial and business insights via robust tracking mechanisms with the view to guide future direction
• Supports the UKI marketing team with weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting working cross-functionally within the team and extended agency network, continuing to promote the UKI Marketing and Communications team as a centre of excellence.
Your experience
Bachelor's degree, preferably in economics, or other related fields
• ACCA qualification
• Strong planning and analytical skills with an eye for details
• Proven ability to learn business systems, including reporting tools (e.g. Oracle, Hyperion, ARIBA, Power BI, Tableau etc)
• Advanced and Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Excellent verbal and written skills required

• Team oriented with the ability to communicate effectively and develop solid working relationships across multiple levels – including senior level – both internally and with external parties
• Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and accuracy and to manage multiple activities in a short time-frame
• An eye for detail and a natural ability to act as a financial advisor and business partner to the Strategy, Planning & Ops Director and broader division.
