ABOUT YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Analyst/Advisor, Transversal Risk, you’ll:

  • Develop and implement risk management modelling strategies for illiquid investments

  • Conduct quantitative and fundamental analysis to support risk management and investment decisions (when needed)

  • Model and analyze complex financial structures and private investment portfolios

  • Manage and analyze large datasets using SQL, Excel VBA, and other tools

  • Utilize RiskMetrics and other risk management software to assess and mitigate risks. Make recommendations based on findings

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive risk assessment and management

  • Identify and recommend opportunities to optimize the workflow within the team

  • Lead the team’s efforts to design and publish data visualization solutions (reports, dashboards, etc.)

  • Provide guidance and training to junior team members on risk management practices

  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate potential impacts on investment portfolios

  • Select proxies for new/existing investments

  • Identify risk factors to which the investments/proxies are exposed, and recommend strategies to mitigate these risks effectively

  • Independently draft analysis and monitoring reports for ad hoc requests received by the team

  • Support your supervisor in the preparation and analysis of various reports

  • Where applicable, ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations and policies

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor or Master of Science in finance (including MBA) and/or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent

  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant experience in finance/risk management and financial modeling

  • Strong quantitative and fundamental analytical skills

  • Proven experience in private investment modeling including investments with non-linear payoffs

  • Deep knowledge of financial markets, derivatives, and ability to integrate macroeconomic factors to the fundamental analysis

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (particularly Excel) and good knowledge of programming languages (VBA, MATLAB, Python, etc.)

  • Proficiency of business intelligence environments (Microsoft BI Suite, Power BI, SQL), and RiskMetrics

  • Experience with large databases and data analysis

  • Designation of CFA, FRM or PRM or enrolment in one of these programs, or a related professional designation, an asset

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
