As a Senior Advisor, Financial Modelling and Rating Agency Relations, you’ll be tasked with understanding and evaluating the quantitative criteria that credit rating agencies use in their methodologies, and then make recommendations to management. You’ll be responsible for modelling the methodologies used by rating agencies to assess the impact of Desjardins’s financial plans and results on credit ratings. This evolving role entails increasing responsibility for relations with rating agencies and investors. More specifically, you will be required to :

Model the methodologies used by rating agencies

Understand the financial concepts needed to create accurate and reliable models

Interpret financial statements with an in-depth knowledge of accounting

Analyze complex data and draw relevant conclusions

Apply methodologies of rating agencies (Moody’s, S&P, Fitch, DBRS)

Provide reliable analyses and maintain high accuracy

Work independently and develop accountability

Explain complex financial concepts to different audiences in a clear, simple way

Develop excellent interpersonal skills

Collaborate with internal and external contributors to work as a team

What you bring to the table

Bachelor’s degree in business administration (with a specialization in accounting, finance, mathematics or actuarial science) or in an appropriate discipline

A minimum of six years of relevant experience in a related field with experience in financial modelling

Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

CPA or CFA designation

Knowledge of French is required

Proficiency in tools like Excel and Power BI

In-depth accounting knowledge to interpret financial statements

Knowledge of rating agency methodologies (Moody’s, S&P, Fitch, DBRS)

Knowledge of programming (VBA, SQL)
