Job Description
About this job:
As part of the company’s world-wide Non-Life Reserving team, the incumbent supports the Non-Life Reserving – Americas team and will mainly participate in quarterly reserving process for the North America portfolio based in our Toronto office.
About the role:
- Work within a world-wide reserving team responsible for the updating, booking and reconciliation of quarterly reserve analysis indications for P&C Americas which includes the US, Canada and Latin America.
- Support annual Deep Dive assumption-setting reviews of P&C Americas sub-portfolios.
- Provide summary reports and management information.
- Help prepare quarterly presentations to executive underwriting management and business unit leadership.
- Engage with underwriting, pricing and claims teams to enhance the reserving freedback loop.
- Assist with data management of company’s world-wide reserving platform.
- Maintain appropriate process documentation.
Qualifications
About you:
To be successful in the role, the candidate brings along the following experiences and competencies:
- Person should have completed at least 4 actuarial exams although “near" Associate to new Associate members of the Casualty Actuarial Society are preferred.
- 3 to 8 years working experience in non-life reserving or pricing in the reinsurance field, or related actuarial experience.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency English.
- Highly motivated, team-oriented and adaptable.
- Strong IT and data management skills.
- Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty lines of business
- Strong ability to work remotely with team members and across departments across multiple time zones.
