We are looking to fill a new position of Senior actuarial advisor, Product, PAR insurance and advanced market. We are seeking a team player with leadership skills who will be involved in several diverse and exciting mandates as we seek to expand our footprint outside Quebec, modernize our operations, increase our profitability, and achieve our ambitious strategic plan. We need an ally who can represent our business sector in the market outside Quebec and play an active role in the life insurance industry, particularly participating products, by accompanying our sales directors to present and showcase our product offerings to business partners during meetings or industry events. You will work closely with the manufacturing, marketing sectors and ensure strong relationships with our distribution representatives. More specifically, you will be required to:

Represent the product development team externally outside Quebec as a product expert, specifically for participating life insurance

Know and promote Desjardins' range of participating products and highlight their distinctive features

Accompany Regional Sales Directors in certain network events and meetings with independent advisors and brokers outside Quebec

Present the participating product offerings in our various networks outside Quebec and during events/launches

Build a network of contacts in our various distribution networks

Attend industry meetings and present Desjardins' offerings

Maintain a good knowledge of the market and the offerings of our main competitors

Recommend and participate in the improvements and developments of participating products at Desjardins.

What you bring to the table

Bachelor's degree inn actuarial sciences ideally FSA, FICA

A minimum of nine years of relevant experience

Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

Expert knowledge (IFRS-17) in pricing participating products with a major insurer in Canada

Advanced knowledge of individual insurance, specifically participating life insurance

Advanced knowledge of sales concepts and their application to real cases (IFA, wealth creation, etc.)

Advanced knowledge of advanced market clients and taxation (affluent/wealthy, business, etc.)

Available to travel 20% to 50% of the time in the GTA and across Canada to meet with internal and external stakeholders AND attend various industry events
