Job Description
Overall, Purpose and Objective of Position
The principal job function is to perform collections for different business units in North America. It involves the analysis of account statements and the daily communication with the traders, commercial areas and back-office functions that interact with customers. LDC is expanding into the downstream space and requires a focused collections function.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Contacts customers to collect on outstanding accounts receivable through the available communication channels
- Access customers’ portals to follow up on collections or information required to activate cash collections
- Understands and reviews cash receipts, returns, and credits to customer accounts for timely and accurate application by the accounts receivable department.
- Assists the accounts receivable team with partial applications on customer accounts.
- Researches and works with treasury, execution, and customers to resolve any remittance discrepancies.
- Keeps permanent contact with commercial areas and credit risk to agree and align on strategies and priorities.
- Recommends improvements to accounts receivable policies and procedures
- Proactively seeks to initiate process improvements through projects and system optimization
- Alerts if there are collection risks with any particular customer or group of customers
- Establish and follow up KPIs to measure performance and inform internal customers on the activities performed.
Additional Responsibilities
- May assist regional credit with customer reference requests and periodic receivables reporting.
- Leads initiative to convert customers to electronic payments
- Corresponds in a timely manner with all internal and external customer requests.
- Maintains all files and documentation associated with the accounts receivable process.

Qualifications
Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses
Preferred qualification:
- College degree with some accounting coursework
- Advanced English skills
Experience
Basic qualification:

2-4 years accounts receivable experience.
Preferred qualification:

Agricultural industry experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including any physical demands)
Basic qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of general accounting principles.
- Proficiency with SAP, Excel and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
- Proactive, self-directed approach with ability to work independently and propose solutions.
- Ability to prioritize multiple, detail oriented tasks and meet strict deadlines.
