About the Role:
Ample seeks an experienced Senior Accounting Manager to join our team. Ample’s future hire will join a growing team of dynamic professionals and report directly to Ample’s VP of Finance. The ideal candidate will have worked in a scaling startup environment, as well as a Big 4 Accounting firm or global corporation.
What You’ll Do:
- Manage and oversee the Accounting and Tax functions
- Guide the monthly close process & complete the consolidated financial statements and related reports, including the month-end, quarter-end, year-end close & consolidation processes
- Maintain the accuracy of the cost accounting, inventory and fixed asset processes and perform monthly reconciliations to the general ledger as needed
- Prepare financial statements and financial operational analysis for management team
- Oversee company international entities, intercompany transactions and the eliminations and consolidation processes
- Coordinate the annual AICPA audit review processes and/or examiners from external auditors. Interface with external financial auditor as the resident expert for accounting matters
- Prepare schedules requested by external tax advisors for corporate tax returns at the federal, state and municipal levels, as well as, the audit tax provision
- Provide leadership and hands-on management of accounting team, including evaluating, developing, coaching and mentoring. Help direct reports understand how their role and contributions are important to the Company’s success, give and receive constructive feedback and provide input to the organization on the direct report’s contributions
- Drive process improvements to improve current financial reporting processes and content, including automation and optimization of processes, identify accounting issues and proposing solutions working with cross-functional partners; continuously identifying areas of process improvement
- Lead special projects (such as ASC 606 & ASC 842 conversion), system improvements and ad hoc analyses/projects as needed
What You’ll Bring:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Accounting, CPA Preferred
- At least 7+ years of Accounting experience in a high-volume, process manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated understanding of GAAP cost accounting standards, product cost analysis and inventory controls
- Strong understanding of tax laws and fillings
- Large scale ERP system implementation experience, preferred
- Experience managing AP/AR personnel
- Work experience with one of the big 4 Accounting firms preferred
Nice to Have:
- Experience with a publicly traded company or CPA firm audit experience
Bonus Skills:
- Experience and proficiency with any of the following systems will be considered a plus:
- Xero
- Bill (formerly Bill.com)
- Expensify
- Brex
