Senior Accountant (SaaS)

About the role: As the Senior Accountant you’ll be responsible for maintaining general ledger entries and reconciling financial statements. You will ensure accuracy in financial transactions, compliance with accounting standards, and overall process efficiency. You will assist the Controller with the annual financial statement audit, collaborate with external tax firms to provide necessary documentation and support, and various other tax and accountant compliance tasks as they arise.  You will work closely with cross functional departments to support financial decisions which are accurately reflected in the financial statements.

You will:

• Record journal entries from various sources into the general ledger system
• Analyse and reconcile financial statement accounts monthly
• Prepare, review, and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring they accurately reflect the company’s financial position
• Assist in the annual financial statement audit and tax process, coordinating with internal and external teams to ensure all financial data is thoroughly reviewed and accurately represented in the financial statements
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger by maintaining consistent and accurate recording of transactions to ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in accordance with GAAP
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reports to management, offering data-driven insights into various business areas, including cost analysis, profitability, and operational efficiency
• Monitor internal financial controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting
• Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams, providing financial insights, recommendations, and actionable data to support business decision-making and strategic initiatives

You have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience ideally in a SaaS business
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting standards, and internal control systems
• Proven track record in managing and improving accounting and operational processes
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing challenges and inefficiencies 
• Proficiency in accounting and operations management software especially Netsuite is a must (other tools: BILL, Fyle, & project management software)
• Ability to develop, implement and review policies and procedures
• Proficiency in Excel and advanced financial reporting tools

Compensation:

Rockbot takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location in the U.S. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

The compensation band for this role is $115K - $135K, as well as equity, and benefits for all team members.
