700Apps is looking for a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing financial reporting, general ledger maintenance, and accounting processes. This role requires a proactive approach in handling day-to-day accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing accurate financial insights to support business decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting principles.
- Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings and compliance.
- Mentor and train junior accounting staff as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10+ years of accounting experience, with a strong emphasis on financial reporting.
- CPA certification is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in financial reporting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience in the software or technology industry is a plus.
