Job Overview:
As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, maintaining proper accounting records, and preparing financial statements in accordance with established standards. You will also provide guidance to the finance team and work closely with the Finance Manager to support the overall financial health of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Perform month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial records are up to date and accurate.
- Reconcile accounts, bank statements, and other financial records to ensure data accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Assist in the development of budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure all required documentation is available and accurate.
- Manage tax filings, ensuring compliance with local tax laws and regulations.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior finance team members, ensuring they follow best practices.
- Support continuous improvements in accounting processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Professional certifications (ACCA, CPA, etc.) are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with a strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
- Previous experience in preparing financial statements and managing full sets of accounts.
- Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems
Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong knowledge of local financial regulations and tax laws.
- Ability to work independently and lead junior team members.
