Title and Summary

Senior Accountant (GBSC)

Overview:
This Senior Accountant - Consolidations role will provide excellent accounting services to Mastercard Worldwide as part of Global Business Services Center (GBSC). The candidate will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate accounting services to our Mastercard Worldwide business unit(s) including the financial month-end close process.
Role:
Major Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Prepare various account analysis and reconciliations on Mastercard global-wide level CTA, Equity, Goodwill, Non-controlling interest, etc.
• Research and correct account discrepancies
• Perform footnotes and supporting schedules to ensure integrity of quarterly SEC filing.
• Perform accounting for Corporate transactions typically include capital injections, dividends, legal entities open, close, or structure changes.
• Partner with technical accounting and controllerships to support merger & acquisitions accounting, including purchase accounting, OBS, TB loads, etc.
• Prepare and record monthly general ledger journal entries in accordance with U.S. GAAP supporting various business units, regions and/or corporate controller’s group .
• Participate in process improvements to improve accounting operational efficiency, quality of output and optimize synergies.
• Perform various ad-hoc reporting, analysis or projects, as needed.
All About You:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• CPA, preferred
• Progressive experience in an accounting/finance position with previous exposure in a large, global environment preferred.
• Broad understanding of basic accounting principles, concepts and logic.
• Produce high-quality work with attention to deadline constraints.
• Working knowledge of financial/ERP systems, preferably direct experience with Oracle and MS office software.
•Capable of working within a changing environment with an ability to organize and prioritize activities.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, relationship building and follow-up skills.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role.
