SUMMARY

Colliers Securities is seeking an experienced accounting professional to join the accounting team supporting its securities underwriting and trading business. This position will play an active role in daily transaction process and the month-end close and financial reporting processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Process daily commissions including reviewing and validating clearing firm files, coding funds, and reconciliations
• Identify and communicate trade issues with operations and producers
• Calculate producer incentives on proprietary trade activity
• Perform daily cash transactions including wires and ACHs and prepare subsequent entries and reconciliations
• Prepare daily revenue summary report for management
• Maintain general ledger through monthly close processes including journal entries, account reconciliations and analytics
• Assist with the development, documentation, and implementation of effective internal and financial system controls, policies, and procedures
• Identify and implement process and control improvements
• Prepare documentation in support of external and internal audits
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, required
• 4+ years of accounting experience, required
• Prior experience working in the finance or banking industry strongly preferred
• Foundational knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel, with knowledge of basic accounting functions
• Strong attention to detail, including the ability to find discrepancies in the available data
• Exemplary time management skills, including prioritization and the ability to manage multiple competing requests
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with a broad range of stakeholders

• Regular and reliable attendance required, including 2 to 3 in office days per week

Area/Location Specific: Minneapolis, MN

Approximate Salary Range for this Role: $80,000 - 90,000

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
