About the Role

This role is hybrid with required in-office days in Sacramento, CA.

Ogilvy is seeking a highly driven Senior Account Executive to join our Public Relations practice, with a focus across Corporate Reputation and Public Affairs. As a Senior Account Executive, you will partner with client management, creative, and strategy teams across projects with huge impact that span the private and government sectors. Senior Account Executives are efficient operators, with an understanding of the business of our business. They are highly organized and accountable leaders, who are able to build relationships and collaborate with/draw on the expertise of Ogilvy’s vast resources and capabilities.
The ideal candidate is passionate about solving our clients’ problems with strategic and creative solutions. This candidate should be comfortable with earned media and community outreach on behalf of clients to further integrated communications programs. Strong writing is a must and experience supporting development of strategy plans and communications materials is preferred.

What You’ll Do

Your daily responsibilities will include implementing routine communications activities, carrying out campaign execution, and administration to create a flawless experience for your clients. You and your fellow teammates will be the engine of the client’s campaign, driving activities with determination and enthusiasm to deliver results that will impact the client’s core business issues.

  • Be the eyes and ears of your clients’ industries, ensuring your account teams are up to speed on sector happenings.
  • Identify opportunities for clients to push boundaries and increase their market share.
  • Work across a portfolio of clients, generating results, meeting deadlines, and owning relationships with clients and media.
  • Collaborate with industry experts and leaders across Ogilvy’s network to deliver best-in-class service to clients.
  • Proactively drive forward media relations strategy, pitch development, program development, and execution to deliver integrated solutions for a variety of corporate, technology and government clients across US teams.
  • Generate results by pitching client stories to journalists and influencers, arranging and staffing media interviews and events.
  • Build strong relationships with media across industries, including identifying contacts at emerging platforms and growing relationships with top tier outlets.
  • Write content for various purposes, including pitches, press releases, messaging documents, Op Eds, blog entries, feature articles, and case studies.
  • Add value to your team through your media knowledge and understanding of what makes a great story.
  • Use impeccable communication skills to work effectively with clients, journalists, and colleagues.
  • Drive client event strategy, program development, staffing and execution.
  • Deliver analytics reports to measure campaign success.

What You’ll Need

  • 3+ years of PR experience in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be media-savvy with a hunger for building relationships with news contacts.
  • Strong public relations experience and media relations skills is necessary, along with an ability to think strategically about issues and message development and adapt as appropriate.
  • Proficient in writing, media, and research skills.
  • Proven track record of successful media outreach and a network of media relationships with top tier media contacts (national and trade).
  • A proven ability to identify connections between trends, stories, and brands.
  • A passion for consuming newspapers, blogs, and content both personally and professionally.
  • Demonstrated capability to get things done on budget and on time.
  • An understanding of the dynamics and workings of the agency’s process as it relates to the client’s business.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Agency experience
  • Ability to travel for onsite client meetings and event support as needed
  • Must be able to lift over 30lbs
  • Fluent in Spanish

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Pay Range

$45,000$90,000 USD
