About the Intern Program:

The OCC Internship Program provides students with the real-world skills to successfully transition into a career in the financial services industry. As an intern, you will help lead projects that help shape the future of OCC. This person will apply their skill set and knowledge toward tackling designated projects. This is an exciting opportunity to have a true impact on the company by designing and implementing solutions for real challenges facing the business. Here's what we're looking for:
Projects and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Security Awareness team in designing, testing and generating new security focused original content
  • Track the assignment and completion of training (including remedial training)
  • Mentored on cyber security, training development, reporting, program management, and technical writing by program employees and key internal stakeholders
  • Mentored on introduction to organizational dynamics, adult learning, behavior modification, internal communications, and personnel administration principles


Candidate Qualifications:

  • Desired major(s): Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Information Management, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Criminology, Psychology, Sociology
  • Desired year in school: Rising Junior or Rising Senior (undergraduate), graduate student
  • Familiar with contemporary computer-based training technologies and live classroom instruction
  • Foundation in social sciences (e.g., introduction to anthropology, sociology, and/or psychology) to understand the principles of collective organizational behavior
  • Business and/or criminal justice coursework or experience
  • Proficient with word processing, presentation graphics, and web browsing
  • Familiar with web technologies (e.g., HTML editing) and graphic design principles
  • Experience with Instructional design and/or content creation
  • Ability to parse desired objectives, organize elements of instruction, and communicate a vision for how best to deliver a block of instruction


What knowledge and skills will the intern gain from this internship?

  • Learn how a medium-sized corporation staffs, organizes, manages, and evolves a centralized Security Awareness program
  • Learn how to familiarize with the administration and support of a corporate Learning Management System and the content that populates it
  • Learn how to design, deliver, and evaluate behavior-based security training
  • Learn Cyber Security functions within the Security Services department through interaction with peer groups to develop, optimize, and deliver new training content.
  • Learn cyber threat intelligence process
  • Learn IT leadership and organizational dynamics theory
  • Exposed to multiple areas of specialization within the Security career field
