BAE Systems is seeking a Senior Principal Software Engineer with Java, Java Spring Boot and 10+ years of results-driven and diversified experience over the full systems and software development life cycle.
Objectives of this role:

• Facilitate and coordinate Agile Scrum processes within the company.
• Guide and coach the team on Agile Scrum principles and practices.
• Ensure the team works collaboratively and efficiently to deliver high-quality products.
• Work with the Product Developer to prioritise the product backlog.

Your tasks:

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies such as daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning, sprint review, and sprint retrospective.
• Identify and troubleshoot obstacles that are hindering the team's progress.
• Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback sessions.
• Communicate project status, risks and issues to stakeholders.
• Track KPIs and help teams deliver high-quality products/solutions on time.
• Ensure that the team follows the Scrum framework and adheres to Agile principles.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed more than 50% on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility >50% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• Must be a US Citizen and able to obtain TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor's Degree or higher in a computer related field
• Familiar with software architecture, design, and development experience using Java and RESTful services.
• 8 to 10+ years of software, system and dev ops exposure/experience
• Hands-on design and coding of three-tier architectures including Web and Electron front ends, RESTful web services and SQL based database back ends.
• Experience implementing a proprietary, native capability through a third-party API to write to the Pres Agis Open Flight data format.
• Experience with MBSE data modeling
• Knowledgeable to DevOps framework in MS Azure Stack Cloud.
• Deployment experience with Big Data streaming solution (Hadoop, Ignite, Kafka) to MS Azure Stack Cloud.
• Knowledgeable to automated test solutions (Cypress, Test Complete).
• Ability to innovate, evaluate and research new technologies while staying abreast of industry trend
• Motivated individual with strong problem-solving abilities
• The ability to engage constructively with peers and technical lead to communicate the technical approach, trade-offs, and technical decisions
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Highly motivated and able to work well in both team and solo settings

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Experience with Agile software development
• Full stack development with UI like Angular, ReactJS, VueJS
• Experience in cloud-based concepts such as AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of the DevSecOps development process
• Experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis
• Experience with Docker, Helm, Kubernetes
• Experience with Git

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $130355 - $221603
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
