The role is a software engineering role within our biggest project to date, the F126 ships for the German Navy.
FüWES (Führungs- und WaffenEinsatzSystem) is the command system consisting of TACTICOS with an integrated, newly developed Fire Control solution. The development and integration of all subsystems onboard the ship, is what FüWES is all about. It accounts for the complete development cycle of products and solutions: from concept definition to system design, continuing to system integration and validation, up until the inclusion of delivery onboard the customer vessels. With the complete solution, we enable this new generation of frigates for the German Navy to have the necessary information to Defense Operators in time and to make the right decision within seconds.
To help us build and expand this system, we are looking for a
SCRUM MASTER / JAVA SOFTWARE ENGINEER
to take part in one of our development teams, which are multidisciplinary and self-organizing Scrum teams. In addition to software development, our teams are fully responsible for various aspects, such as requirements analysis, architecture, design, testing, validation and product demonstrations. The use of high-tech techniques and software development methods is important. The software of our FüWES system is based both on Java and C++ and is supported by a modern development environment.
In your role as Scrum Master you know how to apply Agile principles and the Scrum process framework. You act as a mentor/coach and both challenges and supports the team to get the best possible output. You have the ability to work as a proactive facilitator, who can flexibly deal with changing circumstances.
In your role as senior software engineer you are working with the other engineers on your agile team and the other agile teams in the same sub-domain. You work on designs and architecture with our software and system architects, and take into account security and safety aspects in your code and that of your team.
You will work (among others) with the following tools and techniques:
- Agile/Scrum software development within a scaled environment
- Java, Linux, IntelliJ
- Continuous Integration & Delivery
- Jenkins, Nexus, Maven, Git, GitLab, OSGi, Software Containers (Kubernetes)
- Unit Testing (Junit), Test Automation, Cucumber
