Janux is seeking a highly motivated Scientist with demonstrated skills in standard assay execution related to multi-specific antibody discovery and screening methods. The candidate will participate in hands-on pre-clinical drug discovery and development programs with a focus on quantitatively characterizing antibody binding, biophysical and functional characteristics. The candidate will characterize and develop large molecules as a key member of the drug discovery team. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with standard immunological and cancer biology techniques (ELISA, Octet BLI or biacore SPR, cell-based reporter and functional assays, flow cytometry and others).
This position is hands-on and requires the effective communication and documentation of results that enable the advancement of novel research molecules toward development candidates. Ideal applicants will be collaborative and team-oriented, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and carry a strong commitment to excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform quantitative ELISA-based characterization of peptides and antibody molecules (96 and 384 well)
- Conduct basic protein analysis: SDS-PAGE, Western blot and protein quantification
- Perform and analyze protein-protein interaction and kinetic assays (BLI,Octet)
- Perform mammalian cell culture and cell banking
- Conduct and help develop new cell-based in vitro assays: cell-mediated cytotoxicity, functional reporter
- Conduct basic flow cytometric staining and analysis
- Complete quantitative analyses and basic interpretations of experimental data
- Produce detailed documentation of experiments within a lab notebook and electronically
- Conduct and report laboratory experiments on a daily basis
- Conduct multiple research activities in parallel

- Bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, chemical biology, or related scientific discipline with 6+ years of experience in biotech/pharmaceutical industry, or Master’s degree with 4+ years of experience, or PhD with 2+ years of post-doc experience.
- Experience with flow cytometry cell staining, acquisition and analysis, ELISA, SDS-PAGE, western blot, and other standard cell based & non-cell based quantitative biochemical assays.
- Experience bio-layer interferometry (BLI) Octet assay setup and analysis
- Skilled in basic tissue culture techniques (cell expansion and banking) and aseptic handling of material
- Experience with in vitro cell-based assays (Drug-induced cell-mediated cytotoxicity using real-time xCELLigence RTCA and Incucyte highly preferred, or luminescence-based)
- Experience with flow cytometry and data analysis (FlowJo or similar software)
- Experience completing quantitative plate based biochemical assays using various plate readers
- Experience quantifying results in Excel and Graphpad Prism

What We Do
Janux Therapeutics is an innovative biopharmaceutical company developing next-generation therapeutics based on its proprietary Tumor Activated T Cell Engager (TRACTr) platform technology to better treat patients suffering from cancer. Janux’s initial focus is on developing a novel class of T cell engagers (TCEs), and its lead product candidates are designed to target clinically validated drug targets. While TCE therapeutics have displayed potent anti-tumor activity in hematological cancers, developing TCEs to treat solid tumors have faced challenges due to the limitations of prior TCE technologies, namely (i) overactivation of the immune system leading to cytokine release syndrome, (ii) on-target, healthy tissue toxicities, and (iii) poor pharmacokinetics leading to short half-life. Janux is using its TRACTr platform technology to engineer product candidates designed to overcome these limitations. Janux is developing a broad pipeline with lead programs targeting prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA), epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), and trophoblast cell surface antigen 2 (TROP2), with all of its programs currently in the IND-enabling or discovery stage.
